ERYN ROGERS

REPORTER / ANCHOR

ABOUT ME

BEHIND THE SCREEN

Eryn is a two-time Emmy award-winning reporter whose attention to detail, uncanny ability to think outside the box, and a warm and inviting demeanor is what sets her apart from others in her field.

Those qualities have helped her build rapport with the community in the Upstate of South Carolina where she currently works as the morning reporter at WSPA-TV, where she enterprises and covers breaking news daily. As the morning reporter, she is responsible for waking up the people in the Palmetto State with live reports of the news they need to know most from overnight. While at WSPA, she's covered national stories such as the confederate flag debate at the South Carolina State House and the brutal murder of a pregnant Food Network star.

Eryn came to WSPA after spending two and a half years at WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from the Accelerated Master's Program at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in simultaneous fashion during a four-year program. She completed her Journalism Residency at KSNT-TV in Topeka, KS where she covered lead stories such as the aftermath of the same tornadoes that ravaged Joplin, MO. She also held internships at MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” in New York City and at WSB-TV in her hometown of Atlanta.

In the fall of 2012, Eryn won a Midwest Emmy for a documentary she filmed, produced and edited about gang life among Chicago’s youth.

In her spare time, Eryn volunteers for a non-profit, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate, where she currently sits on the Board. She is also active with her sorority and can always be found getting a quick workout in at the gym.
